Hi, I'm Courtney.

I’m the founder of Evergreen Mahjong Collective—and someone who believes Mahjong is about so much more than the game.

I started Evergreen Mahjong Collective with a simple idea: make it easier for people to learn Mahjong, find a table, and connect with others.

Today, Evergreen Mahjong Collective brings people together through American Mahjong beginner lessons, guided play, leagues, private events, and community gatherings throughout Denver and the surrounding areas.

Rooted in connection.
Built for community.

Evergreen Mahjong Collective is about more than just Mahjong. It’s about the connections that grow around the table and last long after the tiles are put away.

A Teacher at Heart

My professional background is in education, and that shapes how we teach American Mahjong at Evergreen Mahjong Collective.

I care deeply about creating learning experiences that feel approachable, well-organized, and supportive. Our beginner lessons are intentionally small, our instructors are there to teach, and our guided play experiences give players a place to keep learning after that first lesson.

But my favorite part is watching people get to the point where they don't need us anymore.

They've learned the game. They've met other players. They've found their table.

From One Table to a Growing Community

What started with beginner lessons quickly grew into something more. Players wanted a place to keep learning, build confidence, find people to play with, and stay connected to the game. So Evergreen Mahjong Collective grew with them—adding guided play, leagues, and community events.

Today, we've introduced more than 500 people to American Mahjong, but the goal remains simple: help people discover not just a game they love, but a community they want to be part of.
